Maureen's unique and individualized approach to working with clients is directly influenced by her years of experience working for larger and more traditional dog training companies.  She had first hand opportunities to see where traditional programs were not quite hitting the sweet spot for the dog and owner and wanted to do something to address that.  Some training approaches rely on bribery or fear to manage behaviors.  While this can work, the dog is never enabled to find confidence in making their own decisions.  The NePoPo® system attracted Maureen due to the fact that it can work well for such a broad range of dogs and goals.  The more effectively Maureen implemented the system she was learning, the more she felt herself getting “stuck” in the framework of traditional programs.  This lead to the founding of Confluence Canine. Her goal is to help humans create a relationship where they can thrive alongside their dog and feel good about the choices they made to get there.  Each case get individualized attention because each dog and human are individuals and deserve to be treated that way.
